The truth is that I first read Diary of a Country Parson, in the late seventies.

I was at the University of Bath, doing a course on Technology and thought I needed something to read as a diversion and this turned out to be the Diary/5. This is the third edition of Parson Woodforde's diary that I own, and I bought this edition because it is published by the Folio Society.

It is a very beautiful edition, and a very enjoyable book to browse in and read at random.5/5(7). This is a diary (book) of a parson who lived in the 's and documented his daily surroundings and activities including the people who were a part of his every day life.

It's not greatly detailed, and there are days that are skipped, (may have been edited this way) otherwise it would have been too long but surprisingly it feels very modern in /5(29).
